Ever wonder what life is like for rescue dogs at a no-kill shelter? At Four Feet and a Heartbeat in Central Alberta, we provide safe, long-term care for adoptable dogs until their forever family comes along—whether that takes a week or over a year.

A Place to Heal and Grow

Our care centre in Central Alberta spans six peaceful acres where dogs can run, play, and feel safe. Whether they arrive as neglected strays or surrendered pets, we provide vet care, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and above all—love.

Daily Routines, Familiar Faces

Dogs are fed, run outside, played with, and cared for every day. We know each dog by name and personality, and we work hard to build trust. Some are shy. Some are silly. All are waiting.

Why No-Kill Matters

In many traditional shelters, dogs are only given a limited time to be adopted. Here, we remove the clock. We’ve had dogs stay over a year—and then finally find their perfect family.
No time limits. Just care.
